BRIEF BACKGROUND
Dave is a former Division I athlete and four year letterman in swimming at West Virginia University. Entering college as a walk-on, Dave ascended the ranks eventually winning individual conference titles for WVU in Breaststroke events while also setting school records. He received a full athletic scholarship by his senior year. Wanting to extend competitive swimming once his college eligibility was complete, Dave headed west to Concord, CA to swim with an elite team run by an Olympic coach. While there he competed in USA Swimming Nationals and also won his event (200 Breaststroke) at the highly competitive Southern California Championships (SoCals).
From swimming Dave transitioned to competing in triathlon and cycling. In triathlon he has competed in all distances including the Ironman Distance (140.6). As a masters swimmer, he achieved a FINA Top 5 World Ranking in Breaststroke. He remains engaged in his own competitive fitness pursuits and is currently focused on developing his skills and strength in track cycling and xc skiing.
Dave has worked with athletes in the areas of motorsports (motorcycle road racing and motocross). He has also applied his coaching to the tactical space having worked with the Spec Ops Team at Annapolis.
